HTML5 CSS3 starting template

*Now updated with jquery 1.4.2 and removed supersleight as usage of IE6 only stylesheet removes most of the need for it*

Merry Christmas Twitters and RSS subscribers and all those who have found their way here via some other route.

Having started to get into using HTML5 and CSS3 in quite a big way recently I’ve put together a base package that I’ve been using to start projects off. (I’ll hopefully have some of them finished for you to see in the new year).

I was thinking to myself what better way to encourage people to start using all this new stuff than sharing the package with everyone. Now it’s not up to much but it will give you a basis to customize and start from for HTML5 and CSS3.

There’s a good chance my coding may not even be to your liking but that doesn’t matter, I’m making this available so you can download it and change it into your own starting point.

You can download it right here.

The Randomiser Interview #1 – Jacob Gube

lottery balls

I’m sure you haven’t failed to notice that some people are quite well known in the web community, to coin a phrase the “web-rities“. Like celebrities from other walks of life people love to read interviews with them and well I thought it might be nice to have something similar on KamikazeMusic. However I didn’t want to be churning out all the same old interview stuff you can read from plenty of other places on the Internet and so the randomiser email interview questionnaire thingie was born.

How it works
It starts with a question bank of 20 questions some computer related, some a little different. Each interviewee will get 10 questions at random from the bank and then they get to add their own question, ergo we get to find out some more unusual things about them and a bank of fun and interesting questions is built up for future interviews.

Hurricane - Threadless T-shirts, Nude No More

I’ve been a member of Threadless for quite a while but I finally got around to submitting a design, a drawing from a while ago of a Hurricane fighter plane.

Threadless is a great community T-Shirt site so hows about clicking the link on the right and heading over and voting for my design to help get it printed. Just click on the “I’d buy this as a tee” or “as a print” and then give a nice high score, a 5 maybe?

For anyone thinking of submitting to Threadless I would highly recommend using their critique system first, the community are really helpful and you can get some great suggestions. Continue reading

6 surefire ways to improve your online surveys

question marks

I happen to spend a bit of time doing online surveys, whether they’re for website feedback or market research or, well, anything else.
Whilst I haven’t done any in depth research I’ve certainly noticed a lot of basic mistakes that are really annoying! So here’s a few that you should avoid and you should make your surveys easier for people to fill in and that in turn should improve the quality of your results. Continue reading
